• Drag AppChooser 2.0.4 (System 7 required) onto your System Folder, or into the Control Panels folder. Although it is not necessary for AppChooser to be in the Control Panels folder, it is a Control Panel File and should be placed there. AppChooser contains no 'INIT' resources.
FEATURES
• AppChooser allows you to choose a "substitute" application to use when the application which created a document that has been double-clicked isn't available. For example, normally TeachText is used as the "substitute" application for "orphaned" 'TEXT' and 'PICT' documents, but with AppChooser, you can choose any substitution application. And you can define more! Extremely easy to use, no restart is necessary, and your changes are permanent and take effect right after you close AppChooser.
USAGE
• To edit the selected application substitution, click the Edit… button. Standard open dialogs will request you to select an “orphaned” document, and the “substitute” application to use.
• To remove the selected application substitution, click the Remove button. However, removal of the orphaned 'TEXT' and 'PICT' file substitutions is not allowed.
• To add a new application substitution, click the Add button. A maximum of 48 new application substitutions can be made.
• To see the on-line help/about screen, click the ? icon button.
• To change the color of the AppChooser controls, use the Color Control Panel File.
• To see the on-line Balloon Help, select the Show Balloons command under the “Help” menu.
